The CAOS oncology group connects passionate tumor surgeons, engineers, and researchers to develop and evaluate innovative solutions for better care in orthopedic oncology. We aim to build a CAOS oncology ecosystem with stakeholders through interdisciplinary teams collaboration, Research, and Development, Education, and Training.
In the last webinar the speakers provided an overview of the current techniques (CAS and PSI) and shared experiences. There were great talks from the surgical and engineering perspective. While COVID prevents real life conferences, the online webinar proved to be a success with more than 150 participants and lively discussions.
This webinar will focus on sharing, both in experience as in data. First Prof Lee ( UK) will talk about surgical margin and outcome. With CAS and PSI we can improve surgical accuracy At the same time we want to reduce the margin of error What margins do we actually require and how does the use of these techniques impact outcome?
Dr Lucas Ritacco and Dr Olivier Cartiaux will talk about measuring the accuracy of these procedures, comparing planning to post operative result. Standardization and possibly automation of these measurement can provide a new means of comparing techniques, even between centers and the impact of margin on outcome.
The second half of the webinar will focus on sharing experiences in cases with presentations by 4 experienced surgeons. A Q&A/discussion is planned after each case Feel free to join the discussions!
