Postponement of CAOS 2020/21 to June 8th-11th, 2022

The international pandemic situation is unfortunately still uncertain this year, and considering a face to face meeting in June 2021 in France is probably too early and risky.

Therefore, the Executive Board of the International Society for Computer Assisted Orthopaedic Surgery (CAOS International) has unanimously decided to cancel the on-site 2021 annual meeting scheduled from 9th to 10th of June in Brest, France and to postpone the meeting to June 8th, 2022 at the same location.

This painful decision to cancel was based on the clear recommendations from the World Health Organization, the international Public Health centres, and the national governments emergency management plans. The pandemic is still the most important thing to manage and cancelling this international meeting is necessary, self-evident, and the responsible response to the crisis.

Hopefully, with the mass vaccination process commencing worldwide, we will be in a more favorable position to welcome you in Brest, France, in 2022.

In 2021, CAOS International, under the guidance of its Executive Board will organise a series of online activities over the year, including online webinars, invited talks and workshops, and a special issue journal, in cooperation with the CAOS focus groups, corporate and institutional members of our society.

More information on these activities will be posted on our website and via our social media in the coming weeks.

We are very grateful to our President Elect Prof. Sriphirom, who graciously agreed to the postponement of the planned 2022 Bangkok meeting to the subsequent year.

We hope to meet you online during the year 2021 and in person in 2022 in Brest!

Eric Stindel, MD, PhD, President
