Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the New York CAOS 2019 organizing committee, it is with great pleasure that I invite you to join us for the 19th Annual Meeting of our Society to be held at the Hilton Convention Hotel in Midtown Manhattan from June 19-22, 2019.
This meeting is privileged to mark the Silver 25th year Jubilee Anniversary of the founding of our Society. Several events are planned to commemorate its origin, reflect on its past and current achievements, and plan the future promises of CAOS international. Our professional field has been reinvigorated in the last years by the explosive development of robotics and sensor technology. The conference aims to capture the essence of the current trends and scientific progress to provide experts and newcomers with a clear synthesis of state-of-the-art information. The keynote speakers are recognized leaders, whose work has inspired and galvanized ongoing research in the technological contribution to orthopaedic surgery and rehabilitation medicine.
The astounding progress in robotics and sensors will be presented by champions and debated by traditionalists. From an original historical focus on Computer Assisted Navigation, the Society now seeks to expand its mandate to include the essential fields of advanced medical imaging, mathematical modeling, individual biometrics of gait and soft tissue characteristics, and peri-operative objective functional outcomes. The critical role of economics of advanced technology research and development will be the topic of expert panel debates. Pre-conference workshops will provide a dynamic and interactive opportunity to explore emerging, promising, or controversial subject matters such as Same Day Surgery, or privacy of functional monitoring.
The social events will reflect the character of our beloved city. Lively, exciting, and memorable. Participants are encouraged to schedule extra time to enjoy all that New York has to offer: From the cultural scene of street artists to Broadway, museums and Lincoln Center for the performing arts, from vibrant night life to daytime park activities, from esoteric markets to the best shopping in the world.
